Two Top Execs Leaving Twitter

Twitter vice president of revenue partnerships Ali Jafari (right) is about to take on a much more prominent role following the departures of two key executives.

Twitter confirmed a report by Re/code that vp of global business development and platform Jana Messerschmidt and vp of commerce Nathan Hubbard (pictured below, respectively) are leaving the company, and Jafari is taking over media, business development and Amplify.

Chief operating officer Adam Bain confirmed a report by Re/code that Jafari and Gnip CEO Chris Moody now report directly to Bain.

According to Re/code, Messerschmidt, who has been with Twitter for six years, is leaving on her own accord, and Hubbard plans to start his own company. Twitter’s commerce team was disbanded as part of its layoffs last October, and Re/code reported that Twitter had hoped Hubbard would assume the responsibilities of former vp of media Katie Stanton, who left in January, as well as Messerschmidt.
