Pokemon Go Comes to Apple Watch

Niantic announced the release of Pokemon Go on Apple Watch. First announced in September, the Apple Watch version of the game allows users to receive notifications about nearby Pokemon, collect items from PokeStops and more.

With this release, players can receive notifications about nearby Pokemon on the Apple Watch, and then attempt to capture them on their iPhones. In addition, players can receive notifications about nearby PokeStops and collect items from those locations using the Watch app.

Elsewhere, the Apple Watch app will count the distance players have walked toward hatching Pokemon eggs and earning candy for Buddy Pokemon. It will also alert players when an egg has hatched, or when they’ve earned a new medal.

Finally, the Watch app allows users to log each gameplay session as a workout, with their gameplay counting toward their Activity rings.

Pokemon Go is available to download for free on the iTunes App Store.
