Snapchat Launches On-Demand Geofilters for Personal, Business Use

Snapchat has announced the launch of on-demand Geofilters on its platform. Geofilters are only available in specific geographic locations, and with this new feature, users can create their own Geofilters for personal or business use.

To create a Geofilter, users can create their image using an image editor, and can select the geographical area (or geofence) where their filter will be available. Snapchat has created templates compatible with Photoshop and Illustrator to help users get started.

Pricing for on-demand Geofilters starts at $5, with the price depending on the size of the geofence and the length of time the filter will remain active (up to thirty days for personal Geofilters). Once a Geofilter is submitted, it will be reviewed by Snapchat before being activated.

While personal Geofilters can be created for weddings, parties and other private events, business Geofilters can be used by businesses to promote their brands, advertise business events, and so on.

On-demand Geofilters are now available in the U.S., the U.K. and Canada, and will come to more locations soon.
