Facebook Fêtes 2015: 44% Jump in Revenue, 934 Million Mobile Daily Active Users

Facebook announced its Q4 and end-of-year earnings for 2015 on Wednesday, showing that the year was quite good for the company.

Overall, Facebook pulled in $17.93 billion in 2015, a 44 percent year-over-year increase. Q4 was Facebook’s most-lucrative quarter yet, as the company reported $5.84 billion in revenue; last year’s Q4 brought in $3.85 billion.

Facebook has definitely evolved into a mobile company, as 80 percent of the company’s ad revenue in Q4 came from mobile.

The company also continued to grow its base, both on desktop and mobile. Facebook reported that it now has:

  • 1.04 billion daily active users (17 percent YoY increase)
  • 934 million mobile daily active users (25 percent YoY increase)
  • 1.59 billion monthly active users (14 percent YoY increase)
  • 1.44 billion mobile monthly active users (21 percent YoY increase)

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg commented on the company’s performance in a press release:

2015 was a great year for Facebook. Our community continued to grow and our business is thriving. We continue to invest in better serving our community, building our business, and connecting the world.
