Pac-12 Networks-Twitter Livestreaming Pact Set to Kick Off

The first games were announced in the livestreaming pact between Pac-12 Networks and Twitter, which was inked in July.

The Pac-12 Conference announced in July that Twitter will be the “premier streaming partner” for its Pac-12 Plus broadband network, which will feature more than 150 live games throughout the 2016-17 academic year in sports including soccer, volleyball, gymnastics, baseball, ice hockey, swimming, diving, softball, track and field, wrestling, lacrosse, tennis and water polo.

The initial slate of games to fall under that agreement is (all times PT):

  • Thursday, Oct. 6: women’s soccer, University of Oregon at University of Colorado, 2:30 p.m.
  • Friday, Oct. 14: women’s soccer, Washington State University at University of Utah, 6 p.m.
  • Thursday, Oct. 27: women’s soccer, University of California-Berkeley at Arizona State University, 7 p.m.
  • Friday, Oct. 28: women’s volleyball, University of Arizona at Oregon, 7 p.m.

  • Thursday, Nov. 10: women’s volleyball, Colorado at Oregon, 7 p.m.

Pac-12 Networks president Lydia Murphy-Stephans said in a release revealing the initial schedule:

Over the years, our universities have been producing live event streams from their campuses. We’re thrilled that these events will now receive more exposure on the Twitter platform, enabling fans to watch their favorite teams in an easy access communal format.

We have designed Pac-12 Networks to embrace technology and incorporate innovation into our day-to-day work flow. These university-produced live events will now be able to reach more fans than ever before, supporting our mission to provide more exposure to our schools, their sports programs and Pac-12 student-athletes.

Pac-12 fans: Excited?
