Facebook Messenger Day Testing Expands to Australia (Screenshots)

Facebook has expanded the testing of its Snapchat-like Messenger Day feature to Australia, after starting out its tests in Poland.

Messenger Day allows users to share photos and videos in feeds with their friends, adding filters and stickers, with those feeds disappearing after 24 hours.

Several Messenger users in Australia shared screenshots with TechCrunch and Mashable—including Ali Duff and Long Zheng—and a Facebook spokesperson confirmed the testing in Australia to Natasha Lomas of TechCrunch via the following statement:

We know that people come to Messenger to share everyday moments with friends and family. In Australia, we are running a small test of new ways for people to share those updates visually.

Facebook would not confirm plans for further testing of Messenger Day or a full rollout of the feature.
