iOS Users Can Tell Twitter, ‘I Don’t Like This Tweet’

Have you ever been on Twitter and thought to yourself, “I don’t like this tweet?” iOS users can now share those exact sentiments with the social network.

Alex Kantrowitz of BuzzFeed News reported that Twitter quietly introduced an “I don’t like this tweet option” for iOS users last week, and a Twitter spokesperson told Kantrowitz:

(The feature) helps Twitter better understand the types of tweets that you’d like to see less of in your Home timeline. We may use this information to optimize and tailor your experience in the future.

A tweet from Twitter Support last week provided a link to this support page, which contained the following information about the “I don’t like this tweet” tool:

When you mark a Tweet as “I don’t like this tweet,” it helps Twitter better understand the types of tweets that you’d like to see less of in your Home timeline. We may use this information to optimize and tailor your experience in the future. You can access this option from the (down arrow) icon in a tweet (iOS).
