Instagram Adds Wide Color Capture, Display for iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus

Instagram users with the iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus now have access to wide color capture and display.

Instagram head of design Ian Spalter initially announced this feature at Apple’s event in San Francisco last September, when it introduced the two phones, and co-founder and chief technology officer Mike Krieger revealed in a tweet that the feature has gone live:

Other Instagram features specific to the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus that were announced in September included: a zoom feature that supports haptic feedback, so users can feel when they have moved from optical zoom to digital zoom; a 3-D Touch shortcut giving users quicker access to post directly in their Instagram Stories; and the ability to create Boomerang images from Live Photos, which has not yet launched.
