The Pokemon Company International launched Pokemon Duel on iOS and Android. The strategy game allows users to compete in Pokemon Figure Game matches with other players.
In each match, players are challenged to move one of their figures to the goal on the opponent’s side of the board. Users can take six Pokemon figures into each match, and they can collect additional figures outside of matches.
On each turn, players can move one of their figures to a different node on the board. When a player moves one of their figures next to one of their opponent’s figures, they have the option to trigger a battle between the two figures.
In each battle, wheels are spun to determine which attack a Pokemon will use, and whether the attack will hit or miss. At the end of the battle, if a figure has been knocked out, it will be removed from the board and placed in the Pokemon Center, making it temporarily unavailable to the owner.
Users can also play special cards during matches, which can have an impact on the game. For instance, one card may increase the attack power of a Pokemon for a single turn.
As users win matches, they’ll receive Time Booster boxes that can contain new figures. These boxes take time to open, but players have the option to skip the wait by spending premium currency.
In addition to battling other real players in multiplayer matches, users can also compete in single-player matches in the game’s story mode.
Pokemon Duel is available to download for free on the iTunes App Store and Google Play.
