6.824 Million Unique Viewers for Twitter-PBS NewsHour Inauguration Livestream

Twitter said Tuesday that its livestream of the inauguration of President Donald Trump with PBS NewsHour drew 6.824 million unique viewers.

The social network added that the six-hour livestream peaked at 12:15 p.m. ET on inauguration day, last Friday, at 377,000 viewers.

The inauguration livestream edged Twitter’s election night livestream and its 6.8 million viewers for its top spot of all-time

PBS NewsHour director of audience engagement and communications Nick Massella told Kerry Flynn of Mashable via email:

It was a smooth partnership. We are very pleased to see that the demographic breakdown of the audience allowed us to expose the NewsHour’s quality journalism to Twitter’s broad user base.

We are looking for ways to work with Twitter again to explore how we can further create insightful livestreaming news experiences that people want to see and share.
