Niantic announced the first addition of more Pokemon to Pokemon Go. This update will allow players around the world to add Togepi, Pichu and other “select” Pokemon from the Pokemon Gold and Pokemon Silver video games to their in-game collections.
Togepi, Pichu and the other select Pokemon can only be found by hatching eggs. Users can collect eggs at random by visiting PokeStops while playing the game. Once a player receives an egg, they’ll need to incubate it by walking a certain distance before it will hatch.
In a statement, Kei Kawai, director of product at Niantic, commented:
As we race toward 2017, we can’t help but feel grateful for the support and reaction the Pokemon Go community has given us, and we’re delighted to start rolling out select Pokemon for them to hatch. We’re also looking forward to celebrating the season with our community by introducing a Pikachu wearing a festive hat, providing Trainers the opportunity to get out and explore their neighborhoods with friends and family as they gather for the holidays.
Pokemon Go is available to download for free on the iTunes App Store and Google Play.
