Are you looking for a new mobile game to play this weekend? As usual, there are lots of new options available for you to try, including DragonVale World from Backflip Studios. The dragon-breeding game allows each user to build a dragon park and fill it with a variety of dragons.
Next, Gameloft launched Asphalt Xtreme. The off-road racing game allows users to race through a variety of environments using 35 different vehicles.
In addition, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment launched DC Legends. The turn-based role-playing game allows users to collect superheroes and villains from the DC Universe and take them into battles against Nekron and the Manhunters.
Finally, Kongregate and 22cans launched The Trail. The exploration game allows users to travel to the new world and make their fortunes by collecting resources and crafting items.
If you’re looking for something different to play, here’s a look at some of the additional mobile games that were released this week.
Guardian Codex (Free on iOS, Android) – This RPG from Square Enix was created by the team behind the card battle game Guardian Cross. The game takes players to a world split between two forces, the Empire and the Resistance. Players will join the Resistance and they will travel into the virtual “Codex” to find and collect creatures called the Guardians. Users can take their Guardians into turn-based battles against enemies. As users complete battles, their Guardians will earn experience points, and they can level up over time. Users can collect new Guardians as they progress. Finally, in addition to single-player gameplay, Guardian Codex offers a multiplayer mode that allows users to battle against bosses and participate in special events with up to three other players.
Space Food Truck ($9.99 on iPad, Android tablets) – This cooking-themed card game from One Man Left challenges one to four players to travel through a procedurally generated galaxy and complete recipe objectives before their food truck meets a “cruel fate.” In each game, players can take on four different roles on the food truck: captain, chef, scientist and engineer. Specifically, the captain can decide how the truck will move throughout the galaxy, the chef can creates recipes, the scientist can research new abilities and the engineer can repair and upgrade the food truck. Each character begins the game with a deck of 10 cards, which users can play to move around the food truck and complete tasks. Players will collect additional cards over time. Space Food Truck supports asynchronous online multiplayer games, and it also allows users to play multiplayer games locally on a single device.
My Food Truck (Free on iOS, Android) – This match-three puzzle game from Gamecubator Labs allows users to complete 250 levels as they travel the world in a food truck as part of a food truck competition. In each stage, players are challenged to complete a different objective before running out of moves or time. For instance, one stage may ask users to collect fans for their food trucks (every match generates fans), while another stage may ask users to collect special items by dropping them to the bottom of the board, and so on. Users have access to power-ups, which can help them complete stages. As players complete levels, their food trucks will earn fans and will become more popular.
Bubble Words (Free on iOS, Android) – This level-based word game from Genera Games asks users to create words by tapping on letter bubbles on the board. In each level, users are asked to complete an objective before running out of moves (each word a user creates counts as a move). For instance, one stage may ask players to earn a required number of points, while another stage may ask users to remove letter bubbles that are filled with ink, and so on. Users can create special power-up bubbles by forming words that contain four or more letters.
Mine Blitz (Free on iOS) – This mining game from Pine Entertainment asks users to tap on the screen to help a miner dig through layers of dirt. The miner will move back and forth across the screen automatically, and players must help the miner avoid obstacles such as explosives and spikes. Users can collect coins as they mine, which they can spend to unlock progress checkpoints. Users can also watch video ads to unlock checkpoints. In addition, players can spend coins on upgrades and tools for their miners. For instance, a magnet allows users to attract nearby coins for a limited amount of time.
Eat Your Words (Free on iOS) – This word association game from developer William Wallace asks players to use a selection of letter tiles to create words that match the eight clues in each puzzle. For instance, if a clue was “pastry dessert,” the answer may be the word “pie.” Users are not penalized for incorrect guesses. Players will earn coins as they solve clues, and they can spend these coins on hints when they’re stuck. Eat Your Words includes a set of free puzzles to complete, and players can purchase additional puzzle packs via in-app purchase.
