Twitter is teaming up with Disney and People to exclusively livestream a special event tied to upcoming feature film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which hits theaters Dec. 16.
The magazine will host the livestream Friday, Dec. 2 at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET, and it will include never-before-seen content from the movie, as well as a live discussion and question-and-answer session.
The live discussion and Q&A will be hosted by People deputy editor J.D. Heyman and feature director Gareth Edwards, Lucasfilm president and producer Kathleen Kennedy and cast members including Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk and Riz Ahmed.
Fans can submit questions by tweeting with the hashtag #AskRogueOne.
And tweets with the hashtags #RogueOne, #DeathStar, #StarWars and #StarWarsRogueOne will automatically trigger a Star Wars emoji.
Twitter chief operating officer Anthony Noto said in a release announcing the livestream event:
People come to Twitter to see what’s happening in the entertainment world, and the conversation about movies, especially Star Wars, is constant on Twitter. Our collaboration with Disney and People will give fans fresh and exciting live Star Wars content that they can view and tweet about all on the same platform.
Walt Disney Studios president of marketing Ricky Strauss added:
Disney and Lucasfilm are always seeking out innovative ways to tell great stories and engage with fans around the world. We’re thrilled to join forces with Twitter and People to create this can’t-miss Rogue One event that gives Star Wars fans a behind-the-scenes peek at one of the most talked-about movies of the year.
And People editor-in-chief Jess Cagle said:
People is thrilled to participate in the celebration of the latest release in the iconic Star Wars franchise. We have been covering Star Wars since the very first film hit theaters in 1977. Our audience can’t get enough of it.
