Election Day on Facebook: 716.3 Million Interactions From 115.3 Million Users

Facebook was humming on Election Day, with 115.3 million users generating 716.3 million posts, likes, comments and shares about the election.

The social network also said more than 10 million users shared the fact that they had voted, and election-related videos drew 643 million views.

From March 23, 2015, when Ted Cruz announced his candidacy, through Nov. 1 of this year, some 128 million Facebook users in the U.S. generated 8.8 billion posts, likes, comments and shares about the campaign.

From Oct. 7 through Nov. 6, President-elect Donald Trump was the topic of more than 1.1 billion posts, comments, likes and shares from over 67 million U.S. users, while those numbers for runner-up Hillary Clinton were over 934 million and more than 59 million, respectively.
