Google Launches Spaces App for Small Group Sharing

Google introduced its newest application, Spaces, which allows users to share content with others in small groups. The app includes access to Google Search, YouTube and Chrome, so users can share content such as news articles, videos and images with their friends without switching between multiple apps.

With the Spaces app, users can create Spaces, or groups, about specific topics, and invite others to join through messaging, email, social media and more. Users can chat about shared content with the members of the Space.

As a Space grows with multiple pieces of content being shared over time, the app allows users to search for previously shared content if they’d like to view something again. This includes the ability to search for comments and shared images.

The Spaces app is now rolling out on iOS and Android, and it will also be available on desktop and the mobile Web.

Google will be using Spaces at its Google I/O event this week, with each event session receiving its own Space, allowing attendees to connect with others and discuss specific topics.
