GoDaddy launched Flare, its idea-sharing application, on iOS. The app encourages users to share their business ideas with the community to receive feedback and advice.
With Flare, users are presented with a list of user-submitted ideas, and they can swipe left to dismiss them or swipe right to place them into a “wait and see” category. Users can also tap ideas to learn more about them. When users like ideas, they can follow them to track their progress. Users can also leave comments on ideas.
Finally, when an idea relates to a product that may one day be for sale, users can pledge to be future customers.
When an idea is posted to the app, it triggers a 24-hour countdown timer. If the idea receives 10 or more followers before the timer expires, the creator will be able to ask their followers for advice.
In a statement, Rene Reinsberg, vice president of emerging products at GoDaddy, commented:
Everyone has ideas, but too often they don’t go anywhere. We created Flare because we recognized the need for a community where people can get impartial feedback on ideas and connect with others to help them turn those ideas into something meaningful. Whether you’ve just had a fleeting thought and want to explore where you might be able to take it, or you’ve been dreaming of creating your own business your whole life, Flare is the first place to go for someone that wants to take the next step.
Flare is available to download for free on the iTunes App Store. The app is coming soon to Android.
