Google announced the official launch of podcasts on Google Play Music. The company originally said it was bringing podcasts to the platform in October 2015.
With this launch, users can browse the platform’s top podcasts by category, such as education or technology, or search for podcasts manually. Users can also discover podcasts based on their interests or current moods.
To be specific, users can browse podcast themes, such as “Learning Something New” or “Laughing Out Loud,” with each theme broken down into curated playlists. For instance, users can listen to episodes pulled from multiple podcasts in the “Thinking About Money” playlist.
When users find a show they like, they can subscribe and listen to past shows, as well as choose to receive notifications each time a new episode is added.
Podcasts are now rolling out to Google Play Music users on Android in the U.S. and Canada, and they are also available in Google Play Music on the Web. Podcast creators interested in adding their content to the platform can learn more here.
