Snapchat launched the latest version of its application on iOS, introducing 3-D stickers to users. The feature allows users to place emoji stickers on top of people or objects in a video snap, which move as the objects do in the clip. Snapchat launched 3-D stickers on Android earlier this month.
With this update, after users capture a video snap and select an emoji sticker from the menu in the top-right corner of the screen, they can drag the sticker on top of a specific object and press and hold to pin it in place.
For instance, users can place a smiley face emoji over their friend’s face, and the emoji will automatically move as their friend moves in the clip. Users can resize a sticker before pinning it so it better matches the object it’s stuck to.
The new Snapchat update is available for free on the iTunes App Store. Snapchat recently updated its in-app messaging system to Chat 2.0, allowing users to switch between text, voice and video chatting in a single conversation, among other features.
