Austin-based delivery service Favor has announced its expansion into Tempe and Scottsdale, Arizona. The Favor app allows users to hire personal delivery assistants called Runners, who will pick up and deliver anything from food to laundry.
From January 2015 to January 2016, Favor said its 10,000 Runners completed more than 1.5 million deliveries, and that its gross monthly sales increased by 390 percent. Favor said more than 90 percent of its completed deliveries have a five-star rating.
With this expansion, users in Tempe and Scottsdale, Arizona can hire Runners for a flat delivery fee of $5, with deliveries being available between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m., seven days a week. Favor said deliveries take an average of 35 minutes to complete.
Going forward, Favor plans to expand into Mesa and Phoenix, Arizona, with the goal of being available in 50 cities by the end of 2016 (it’s currently in 21).
In a statement, Jag Bath, CEO and president of Favor, commented:
We’re excited to add Arizona to our expanding map of cities across the U.S. and Canada. Favor is dedicated to bringing the best possible experience to our customers, Runners and merchants, and we’re excited to bring this level of service to Arizona.
Favor is available to download for free on the iTunes App Store and Google Play. The company has raised $16.9 million in funding to date.
