Was the addition of multiple-account support to Facebook Messenger a smart move? GlobalWebIndex says yes.
According to GWI, 31 percent of Messenger users share their mobile devices with at least one other person, and 9 percent share those devices with four or more people.
GWI said in an email to SocialTimes:
Particularly key here is that rates of mobile sharing peak in fast-growth countries–precisely the markets where Messenger has been struggling to gain the type of success that it has seen in North America. This new multi-account functionality could help to address this.
