Glu Mobile‘s latest celebrity mobile game, Kendall & Kylie, has experienced rapid growth since its release on February 17, as data from app store optimization company Sensor Tower revealed the game was downloaded more than 1.3 million times on iOS in the U.S. in its first five days.
The lifestyle simulation game stars Kendall and Kylie Jenner, and is similar to other celebrity titles from Glu, including Kim Kardashian: Hollywood (starring Kendall and Kylie’s sister) and Katy Perry Pop. In the game, players work to become a social media star while interacting with Kendall and Kylie Jenner.
According to Sensor Tower, in its first five days, Kendall & Kylie made more than $680,000 through in-app purchases in the U.S. on iPhone and iPad combined. By comparison, Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, which released in 2014, made approximately $222,000 through in-app purchases in the U.S. in its first five days. The game was downloaded approximately 612,000 times in the U.S. during those five days.
In addition, it took less than two days for Kendall & Kylie to reach the No. 1 spot on the top free apps chart on iPhone in the U.S. (the game currently sits at No. 4), while Kim Kardashian: Hollywood took 24 days to reach the top of the same chart.
