Glu Mobile has announced it has partnered with music superstar Taylor Swift to create a new game for mobile devices.
Swift joins a number of celebrities who have previously partnered with Glu for the creation of their own mobile games. For instance, Kim Kardashian: Hollywood released on mobile in 2014, while Katy Perry Pop and Sniper X With Jason Statham launched in 2015.
In a statement, Niccolo de Masi, Glu chairman and CEO, commented:
Bringing with her over 227 million social followers, I am thrilled to welcome Taylor Swift, an award-winning singer, musician and songwriter, to Glu’s family. We realize that Taylor and her global fan base expect a new and highly differentiated mobile gaming experience.
Glu is equally committed to designing never before seen gameplay elements that utilize Taylor’s unique creativity. Accordingly, we will spend the required development time to ensure this innovation is achieved.
Swift’s social audience was determined by combining her followers on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Vevo, with admitted fan overlap between channels.
The untitled mobile game is expected to release in late 2016, with further details on Swift’s involvement with the project coming at a later time. Check back soon for more.
