Storyo officially launched its photo stories application in the U.S. The app allows users to create short videos from their pictures.
With Storyo, users can create videos by selecting groups of photos from their camera rolls, or by selecting photos one by one. From there, the app creates short videos using the best photos from users’ selections. Users can create videos that are 15, 30 or 60 seconds in length, with longer videos containing more photos.
Finally, the app automatically selects a song and a visual filter or theme for each video. Users can select different songs and filters if they don’t like the original choices. The app includes some filters that are exclusive to the U.S.
Once videos are finished, users can save them to their devices to share them with others.
In addition to allowing users to manually create videos, the Storyo app will also automatically create videos based on the date and location information from users’ photos. Users can edit these videos and share them with others.
Filipe Vasconcellos, CEO of Storyo, told SocialTimes:
People love creating content, but they are doing it the old-fashioned way. We’re creating a new paradigm with Storyo: We’re introducing a new type of content that gets automatically generated from a mix of assets like photos, maps and tidbits of interesting data within our smartphones. This is really a novel way of self-expression in our increasingly digital world.
Storyo is available to download for free on the iTunes App Store.
