Mobile Game Roundup: Ball Tower, Auto Warriors and More
If you’re looking for a new mobile game to play this weekend, there are lots of new options for you to try, including NBA Live Mobile from Electronic Arts. The game allows users to become the managers of their favorite basketball teams, and compete in matches in multiple gameplay modes.
Elsewhere, Storm8 released Dream City: Metropolis this week. The city-building game allows users to build homes, shops, factories and more in their towns while completing quests.
Next, The Pokémon Company and Niantic launched Pokémon GO. The location-based game encourages users to travel around the real world to collect Pokémon.

Ball Tower (Free on iOS) – This endless survival game from BoomBit challenges players to help their balls roll down towers by tapping each time the balls reach turns in the path. Gamers can collect diamonds as they play, which can be spent on different balls. Outside of single-player games, users can challenge other players in turn-based multiplayer games. Users can also connect the game to Apple TV to play local multiplayer games supporting up to four players (each player needs their own iOS device or MFi controller).
Crusaders of the Lost Idols (Free on iOS, Android) – This clicker or idle game from Kongregate and Codename Entertainment allows players to collect a variety of Crusaders and take them into battle against enemies. While players can tap to manually attack enemies with their main characters, every other Crusader will automatically attack enemies, even when players aren’t tapping. Users can upgrade their Crusaders to increase their stats. Crusaders of the Lost Idols was previously released on Kongregate, Facebook and Steam, and users can connect to their Kongregate accounts to access their progress on mobile.
Ducking Hunting 180 (Free on Android) – This duck hunting game from Brutal Studio allows users to aim at flying ducks by tilting and moving their devices. Once users have lined up their shots, they can tap to shoot. Gamers are challenged to shoot ducks before they fly off of the screen. Players lose hearts when they allow ducks to escape, and when they lose three hearts, the game ends. As users complete rounds, additional ducks are added to the screen, increasing the game’s difficulty. Users can unlock achievements as they play.
Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast (Free on iOS, Android) – This turn-based RPG from Roadhouse Interactive, Nodding Frog and 50cc asks players to help Eddie, Iron Maiden’s mascot, collect the shards of his shattered soul. In the game, players will defeat enemies in turn-based battles. Users can recruit new units for their teams over time, and they can upgrade and evolve their units to improve their stats. Gamers can also collect 40 different talisman sets, which allow them to unlock additional abilities for their characters.
Surprise Eggs World (Free on iOS, Android) – This children’s game from Biscuit Moon was designed for children aged 2 to 4. In the game, players will tap to open chocolate eggs, revealing animals hidden inside. Users can tap the animals to trigger animations. Surprise Eggs World includes seven free animals, and users can unlock 28 additional animals for $2.99.
Mind Drills (Free on iOS) – In this endless survival game from ZPlay, players are challenged to help their characters survive by tapping to move them to the inside or outside of a circle to avoid obstacles as they move. Gamers can collect currency as they play, which can be spent on new playable characters.
Wonky Tower (Free on iOS, Android) – This level-based puzzle game from Firefly Studios challenges players to help Pogo the monkey collect bananas in each stage by constructing towers, bridges, platforms and more for Pogo to walk on. In each stage, players have access to a limited number of building materials, which they can place within environments before Pogo begins walking. Once they allow Pogo to begin moving, they can tap on the screen to cause him to jump. Levels are timed, so users must create paths and help Pogo collect bananas before running out of time.
Auto Warriors (Free on iOS) – This car battle game from Gunjin Games challenges players to destroy enemy vehicles by dragging their fingers to create movement paths for their own vehicles. Battles are turn-based, so players can create new driving paths for their vehicles on each turn. Once users equip weapons during battles, their vehicles will automatically attack nearby enemies. As players progress, they can upgrade their vehicles’ stats, and equip them with new weapons and armor. Auto Warriors includes 150 single-player campaign levels. The game also includes one-on-one and Fleet player-vs-player modes, as well as Dealer Challenge and Mechanic Challenge modes.
