Facebook used VidCon in Anaheim, Calif., to announce three upcoming updates to its Facebook Live live-video-streaming feature.
Fitz Tepper of TechCrunch reported that the social network will soon debut two-person remote broadcasts, prescheduled streams and the addition of masks and effects from recent acquisition MSQRD.
Facebook will add the ability for Facebook Live users to add a second participant in a different location to their streams, Tepper reported, adding that verified pages will get the first crack at this new feature later this summer, with other users to follow.
The social network also said it will allow Facebook Live users to pre-schedule their live streams and create waiting rooms for friends and followers to “gather” in prior to the start of those streams, and Tepper added that it will give Facebook Live users a better shot of starting their streams with a full audience, rather than waiting for friends and followers to join midstream.
Finally, MSQRD users will be able to go directly to Facebook live via the MSQRD application, allowing them to sample masks and effects from MSQRD during their live streams.
