Instagram has begun showing users recommended Instagram Stories at the top of the application’s Explore tab.
An Instagram spokesperson confirmed the testing of this feature in an email to SocialTimes, adding that 100 million users are now visiting the Explore page on a daily basis, or about one-third of the photo- and video-sharing network’s 300 million-plus daily active users:
We’re excited to bring Stories to Explore in the coming weeks. Explore is where people go to discover new accounts to follow and content to enjoy. It’s a great surface to highlight all amazing stories that people are creating.
Instagram launched its Snapchat-inspired Stories feature in early August. The feature allows users to share photos and videos that don’t appear on their main feeds, and those Stories will disappear after 24 hours. With this update, users will be able to view recommended Stories from accounts they can follow on the app’s Explore tab.
According to TechCrunch, Instagram will recommend Stories based on the accounts users follow and the topics they care about.
